How I choose an outfit everyday

Often find yourself staring into a closet full of clothes yet still you have nothing to wear? Do you find that you wear the same outfits week after week? With the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we don’t always have the time to pair new and creative outfits together out of our existing, and sometimes mundane, wardrobes. Here’s a simple tip to help you shake things up:

Think of one item that you want to wear and then build your entire outfit around that. It could be a specific shirt, belt, pair of shoes or even earrings or a cocktail ring. Build the entire ensemble around this to ensure you are pairing new outfits together each day. For example, say you bought a pair of emerald green and turquoise earrings to match a dress you bought for an event. Just because those were once special occasion earrings they can still be used in your everyday wardrobe. Maybe you have an emerald green cardigan you usually wear with a floral skirt? Take that cardigan, wear over a white cami with jeans or dress pants and let your emerald and turquoise earrings be the outfit’s exclamation point! Or maybe you have a leopard belt? Build an outfit around that consisting of a brown top and black pants. You probably wouldn’t normally wear solid black and brown together alone (and if you would then give me a call!), but the leopard belt will really pop against the neutral background.

Think about when you buy a new pair of shoes. Don’t you come home and pick something out of your wardrobe to wear them with for their debut?! (its not just me who does that, right?!) You are essentially building an outfit around your shoes. So why not take this approach to dressing everyday? That’s I how I choose my outfits. I promise it will really help you shake things up!
