DIY LGT Fashionista Christmas Tree

My inspiration: Hammacher Schlemmer’s Fashionista Christmas Tree. A fan of unconventional Christmas trees, I was excited when a friend showed it to me. I loved everything about it…except for the price tag! Retailing for $249.99, I insisted on replicating this tree with materials I already had or could get for a fraction of that cost.

The tools: The base items were a bustform I had that I use for Style Swaps, the base to my Trust in Tricia banner stand and an old broom stick. I then went and purchased lighted green and silver garland.

I simply wrapped the lighted garland around the tree mimicking the shape of the bustform. I purchased 2 different types of garland, one a little bit thicker, which I used on the bottom to make the the “dress” appear fuller. I wrapped the broomstick in silver garland to finish the look. Then I added some beads I got from Mardi Gras years ago as pearls, bows and ornaments that I already owned to accessorize…err I mean, decorate, my tree!  And my LGT (Little Green Dress) Fashionista Christmas tree was complete for only $31.44!
